Plastic Shopping Bags:

Plastic shopping bags are packaging materials made of polyolefin as the main raw material and other substances are added appropriately. The polyolefins used are mainly polyethylene (PE), commonly known as soft rubber, and the main products include four categories: low-density polyethylene or high-pressure polyethylene (LDPE), high-density polyethylene or low-pressure polyethylene (HDPE), linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) and metallocene polyethylene (mLLDPE). In order to reduce its cost, most companies add about 30% calcium carbonate to make filled plastic shopping bags, which do not emit toxic gases when incinerated in landfills. Starch-based plastic shopping bags - such shopping bags use modified starch as the main raw material, and a small amount of other degradable materials are appropriately added to improve their performance. The plastic shopping bag can be discarded in the wild after use and can be naturally degraded.

Degradable Plastic Shopping Bags – These shopping bags are produced from fully degradable plastic and have complete degradable properties. The product can be completely degraded into small molecule microorganisms when discarded in the wild, without any environmental pollution, and such plastic shopping bags are promoted abroad. According to the specific composition of completely degradable plastics, they can be divided into the following three categories:

(1) PLA and PHA biodegradable plastics synthesized by biological fermentation using natural starch as raw materials need to consume a large amount of food, so the development space is limited.

(2) Aliphatic polycarbonate (APC) degradable plastics synthesized from carbon dioxide as raw materials, which use carbon dioxide, an industrial by-product that everyone is shouting about, as raw materials, which not only consumes food, but also reduces carbide emissions and eliminates global warming caused by greenhouse gases, killing two birds with one stone, so the market has broad prospects.

(3) Completely degradable products with non-starch degraders added to ordinary plastics are in the industrialization stage, such as reliable degradation performance and great development prospects.

Non woven shopping bags

Non-woven shopping bags are non-woven fabrics made of plastic, and many people think that cloth is a natural material, but it is actually a misunderstanding. The commonly used non-woven raw materials are polypropylene (abbreviated as PP, commonly known as polypropylene) or polyethylene terephthalate (PET in English, commonly known as polyester), especially PP and PE used in plastic shopping bags, all of which belong to the five general plastic varieties and belong to the plastic varieties that cannot be degraded for 50 years. For example, we all call the ordinary non-woven shopping bag of environmental protection shopping bags, which are made of polypropylene fiber through a special process, in essence, polypropylene (PP) is a typical variety of plastic, and also belongs to plastic bags, so environmental protection and ordinary plastic shopping bags are the same, and they can not be completely degraded.

In terms of specific cost performance, the strength of non-woven bags under the same conditions is not as good as that of plastic bags, and it is not waterproof, and its price is several times higher than that of plastic bags. It should be mentioned that for non-woven shopping bags made of more than 2 materials, it is more difficult to recycle than ordinary plastic shopping bags.

Paper shopping bags

We all know that the strength and water resistance of paper are not good, many water-based products such as seafood cannot be packaged, and heavier metal products are also difficult to bear. First of all, the raw material for making paper is mainly wood, and the world's forest resources are extremely scarce, which is the biggest waste of environmental resources; Secondly, the process of making paper produces a lot of water pollution, and paper mills across the country are beaten everywhere like rats crossing the street. Therefore, the use of a large number of paper bags is the biggest waste of environmental resources and the biggest pollution to the environment.

Cotton and linen

Cotton and linen shopping bags are stronger than paper bags and can be recycled many times, but the water resistance is also not good. The advantage of cotton and linen shopping bags is that they can be recycled, but what should I do if the cloth bag is dirty? Washing with water is the most commonly used method, but washing wastes water resources, using phosphorus-containing laundry detergent will pollute the soil, and ordinary washing with water cannot sanitize bacteria.

1. For general dry goods, it is recommended to use national waste or European waste to control the production of base paper according to the technical indicators of grade A or B kraft linerboard. The surface layer can be hung noodles or not, depending on whether complex patterns and advertisements are printed. The quantitative amount of paper can be 135~150 g/m2. 25×20×15cm paper bags can bear a weight of 8~15 kg.

2. For goods that need to withstand a certain amount of moisture, full waste paper can also be used. However, on the basis of the above standards, a certain amount of wet strength agent 0.5~1.0% can be added, and the wet strength can reach 10~15% dry strength.

3. For meat or other wet goods, shopping bags can also be made of waste paper. This requires the addition of an environmentally friendly oil repellent to the pulp or to the surface during the papermaking process. It can also be sprayed with water-soluble or degradable resin on kraft containerboard with good surface strength.

4. Many manufacturers in Chinese mainland have developed all waste paper clamped paper. That is to say, when making paper, water-soluble yarn is added between the two layers of slurry combined with the textile principle, and one layer of this kind of paper can reach the strength of four layers of kraft paper, which can completely replace ordinary cement bag paper. Similarly, single-ply paper can be used on shopping bags.
